For the past 23 years, I have been practicing the art of Tai Chi; a discipline originating in China hundreds of years ago. Tai Chi is based on principles of focus, balance and movement while maintaining a powerful effect on relaxation and concentration. This effect is helpful in relieving stress while providing the benefits of physically conditioning my body. Ultimately this form of exercise leads to a heightened sense of well being.

There are a number of forms consisting of a sequence of movements. Many of these movements derived from the martial arts and are believed to be copies of the natural movements of animals and birds. However, Tai Chi incorporates slow, soft and graceful movements with smooth and even transitions between.
